Rohit Dahal is the Senior Communications Manager at United World Schools (UWS), where he leads the organisation’s communications function in service of education for children in some of the country’s most remote and underserved communities. He sets the communications strategy, oversees storytelling and content, leads media and public relations, and manages partnerships and the communications team, making sure UWS’s mission reaches the audiences, partners, and donors who help sustain and grow its impact.

Rohit brings more than a decade of experience across strategic communications, programme coordination, and creative design in the development and civic sectors. He has led communications and media literacy initiatives with partners including UNESCO Nepal, the U.S. Embassy in Nepal, EU in Nepal, UNDP Nepal and the Australian Government Nepal (DFAT), much of it focused on countering misinformation and strengthening digital resilience. A 2023 U.S. Department of State Community Engagement Exchange alumnus who worked alongside Community Catalyst in Boston, he has represented Nepal at international forums including the United Nations High-Level Political Forum in New York and the Words Matter! conference in Oslo, and has held district leadership roles across Rotaract 3292 Nepal-Bhutan.

Rohit believes that strong communication is central to development work, not separate from it, because it is how a community’s reality reaches the people and partners who can support lasting change. He is committed to communications that stay close to the communities they serve, keep young people at the centre, and earn trust rather than attention. This is the focus and care he brings to leading communications at UWS.
