Promoting climate education and empowering communities through preparedness efforts.
UWS Nepal incorporates climate education into its programmatic interventions, equipping all students and community networks, such as the Mothers’ Group, with essential life-skills. This includes conducting dynamic wildfire and earthquake drills for both students and their parents/guardians. Sessions on the importance of preserving our climate and the different things we can do to build climate change resilience form an essential component of the Mothers’ Group and community meetings. This commitment to fostering a safer, more sustainable world extends to impactful tree plantation drives, zero plastic campaigns, waste management training, symbolizing the powerful bond between education and environmental stewardship. Together, we are nurturing resilient, greener communities where education becomes a catalyst for sustainability and well-being. By empowering individuals and embracing environmental responsibility, we pave the way for a future that is safe, sustainable, and thriving for everyone.

Strengthening Education Systems
Strengthening the education system in rural Nepal is vital to combat high dropout rates, inadequate teacher training, and poor student performance. The World Bank emphasises that local engagement and strong support networks are essential for preventing declining enrollment, particularly among marginalised groups.* Our initiatives focus on collaboration with local governments and organisations for policy advocacy and capacity building, having trained 520 teachers to enhance educational outcomes and ensure that no child is left behind. *Source: World Bank. Building Sustainable Communities
The Sustainable Development Goals emphasise the need for community-driven solutions in rural education, especially in skill development and vocational training to enhance self-sufficiency and economic stability.*
