Who We Are

About UWS Nepal

Founded in 2015, UWS Nepal is a pioneering organisation dedicated to revolutionising education in Nepal’s most remote and climate-vulnerable communities. We go beyond providing quality education—we build it from the ground up. From constructing earthquake- resistant schools and ensuring access to clean water and sanitation to delivering inclusive and quality education, we address every barrier to learning.
Our mission is to break geographical, cultural, and climate barriers, striving for zero education poverty by empowering children to learn, thrive, and lead. Through local teachers, mothers’ groups, and partnerships with the local government, we ensure every child stays in school despite the barriers of remoteness, poverty, and adversity
We don’t just build schools; we build resilience. By integrating climate education and eco-friendly practices, we prepare communities to adapt and thrive in the face of climate adversity shaping a generation ready to create a sustainable, climate-resilient future.

To eradicate education poverty by empowering children with transformative education and building resilient communities.

A future where every child has access to quality education, unlocking their potential to lead and uplift their communities.

Our primary goal is to ensure the provision of quality inclusive education to all, and to achieve this, we diligently strive to enhance educational opportunities for children living in marginalised communities and hard-to-reach areas.

SDG 5: Gender Equality
We are committed to fostering gender equality through education by creating safe, inclusive learning environments for girls, empowering them with knowledge and skills, and promoting equal opportunities in all aspects of education and beyond.

SDG 1: No Poverty
We aim to address poverty through education by providing children from underprivileged communities with access to quality learning, equipping them with the tools to break the cycle of poverty and build sustainable futures.

SDG 6: Clean Water & Sanitation
We integrate water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) programs into its educational efforts, ensuring that schools have access to clean water and sanitation facilities, and teaching students the importance of hygiene for healthier learning environments.
